Real Estate Voiceovers

by stugray on June 27, 2009

I was really intrigued by Stephanie Ciccarelli’s blog post recently about Real Estate Voiceover work.

It’s funny, I actually read the article and then was “hired” by my wife, Lisa,  to do some messaging for her Real Estate business. I sent a tweet about it:

And in response, I got another tweet:

Its a good question. So I figured I would throw out some first thoughts that Voiceover talents could consider when approaching Real Estate Voiceover work.

*Stephanie mentioned Ari Ross’ Real Estate Voiceover Websitewhat about doing your own local version? “(Yourmarket)realestatevoiceover.com”? While the economy is still “down” my wife loves to say “Eveyone still needs a home!” There are Realtors still working and advertising in your city.

*Check out the Real Estate signs in your neighborhood. Make note of the Agents. (I wouldn’t suggest calling them with the number on the sign, because you aren’t going to be buying the house). If they have an email – send them an introduction to yourself and your work, and ask if they do ‘virtual tours’, or need anytype of voiceover service – phone messaging, business presentations, listing presentations, etc… (if their email is not listed – google the company and connect with them that way)

*If your market has a Real Estate television network or channel, once again, watch for the realtors who are advertising. Repeat the same steps from above.

*If your market has a Real Estate television channel, consider trying to find the company who produces the network and hires the voice talent to read the descriptions of the homes! Contact them with your marketing materials.

*Go online and do a search for some of the homes for sale in your city or neighborhood. If the realtor has hired a company to produce a virtual tour of the home – contact the virtual tour company and find out if they use voiceovers for their real estate presentations.

These are just a couple first thoughts that I had when mulling over Real Estate voiceovers, and having a wife in the Real Estate Industry, I thought I might be keen on some places you might be able to look, or contact to help get a ‘foot in the door’!

If you have more thoughts – please leave a comment – I am eager to learn your  thoughts and strategies for marketing your voiceover business to real estate brokers/agents!
